Las Vegas, NV – Project Digits, a groundbreaking "personal AI supercomputer" from Nvidia, took center stage at CES 2025. This new offering brings the formidable power of the company's Grace Blackwell hardware platform into a desktop-friendly package, designed to empower AI developers.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, during a Monday press conference, emphasized the comprehensive nature of the device. "[Project Digits] runs the entire Nvidia AI stack — all of Nvidia software runs on this," he explained. "It’s a cloud computing platform that sits on your desk … It’s even a workstation, if you like it to be." Project Digits positions itself as a versatile tool capable of handling demanding AI workloads within a personal workspace.

This computer specifically targets AI researchers, data scientists, and students, packing Nvidia’s new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip. This powerful component delivers up to a petaflop of computing performance, making Project Digits exceptionally capable for prototyping, fine-tuning, and running advanced AI models.

A key specification of Project Digits is its ability to run models with up to 200 billion parameters. This significant capacity translates to advanced problem-solving skills, as models with more parameters generally exhibit superior performance. This capability places substantial AI development potential directly on the desks of individual users.

The GB10, the core of this personal supercomputer, is the result of a collaboration with MediaTek. It integrates an Nvidia Blackwell GPU with a 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU. Within the Project Digits enclosure, these chips work in concert with a 128GB pool of memory and up to 4TB of flash storage.

For even more demanding tasks, two Project Digits computers can be linked together, enabling the handling of models with up to 405 billion parameters. Project Digits offers flexibility in its deployment, functioning as a standalone AI powerhouse or connecting to a primary Windows or Mac PC to augment its capabilities. It operates on Nvidia’s Linux-based DGX OS.

The availability of this powerful computer comes with a price tag. Project Digits, running DGX OS, will be available starting in May from select partners for $3,000. This positions it as a high-end tool for serious AI development work.

Despite the cost, Huang believes in the market for Project Digits. "With Project Digits, the Grace Blackwell Superchip comes to millions of developers," he stated. "Placing an AI supercomputer on the desks of every data scientist, AI researcher and student empowers them to engage and shape the age of AI.” The vision for Project Digits is to make advanced AI computing accessible to a wider audience of developers.
